Sochi 2014: Jorrit Bergsma wins men's 10,000m speed skating
Baku, February 19 (AZERTAC). World champion Jorrit Bergsma set a new men's 10,000m Olympic record as he secured gold in another Netherlands speed skating clean sweep in Sochi.
Bergsma, who won 5,000m bronze earlier at the Games, finished in 12 minutes 44.45 seconds - beating South Korea's Lee Seung-Hoon's 2010 mark by 13 secs.
Team-mates Sven Kramer (+4.57 secs) and Bob De Jong (+22.75) took silver and bronze for a fourth all-Dutch podium.
The Dutch have now won 19 speed-skating medals at Sochi's Adler Arena.
Bergsma, 28, took gold after covering each of his last five laps in less than 30 seconds per lap - a pace which 5000m champion Kramer was unable to match.
It was further Olympic disappointment for 27-year-old Kramer, who was unable to make amends for Vancouver 2010 where he was stripped of gold after incorrectly changing lanes.
