SPEAKER OF MILLI MAJLIS RECEIVES CIS IPA SECRETARY GENERAL
Ogtay Asadov has reminded: “Azerbaijan became member CIS IPA due to efforts of the national leader of Azerbaijan people of Heydar Aliyev. Value of the given structure for us is great, he said. “Our deputies frequently take part at sessions of Assembly, adjust close connections, cooperate, carry out exchange of experience in the field of the legislation. I think, that our meeting renders the positive influence on development of links both between our parliaments, and between our countries, our relations more will extend”.
Mikhail Krotov on behalf of chairman of the Council of Federation of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Mironov and has on own behalf congratulated Ogtay Asadov election as Chairman of Milli Majlis.
He has told: “2005 has been declared in Russia, as “Year of Azerbaijan, and in 2006 in Azerbaijan will pass “Year of Russia”. We have brought in the contribution to carrying out of Year of Azerbaijan to Russia, and we would like to accept participation in Year of Russia in Azerbaijan with your assistance. The next year, 100 years to the State Duma of Russia will also be marked. In this connection, a number of actions will be carried out. Azerbaijanis too possessed big merits in establishment of parliamentarism in Russia, they accepted active participation in work of the Duma. We would be very glad to your participation in anniversary actions, he stressed.
The sides also had a large exchange of opinions on cooperation in legislative sphere, development of links.
The same day, Speaker Ogtay Asadov has received the deputy of parliament of Georgia Kamal Muradkhanli and the ambassador of this country to Azerbaijan Zurab Gumberidze.
Chairman of Milli Majlis has emphasized, that there is a fine basis for the further development of ties between two neighboring countries in all spheres. We shall aspire to that our relations and henceforth became stronger and extended”
Kamal Muradkhanli on behalf of the chairman of parliament of Georgia Nino Burjanadze has congratulated Ogtay Asadov on the occasion of successful end of the elections passed in Azerbaijan and election as chairman of Milli Majlis, has wished him successes in the further activity.
The deputy has told, that the basic purpose of visit to Baku was participation in ceremonies of respect of the memory of the second anniversary of death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Having emphasized, that warm friendly relations between presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgia open ample opportunities and for development of links of two countries, K. Muradkhanly has expressed hope that parliaments would as much as possible take advantage of it that in expansion of relations the new stage will begin.
At the meeting, also was held exchange of opinions on other questions of mutual interest.
