Strasbourg to host Nizami Ganjavi international conference
Baku, February 13 (AZERTAC). An international conference devoted to Nizami Ganjavi will be organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Strasbourg as part of a series of events celebrating the 870th jubilee of the great Azerbaijani poet.
The conference will take place at Rhine Palace to mark the end of the three-month “Universal Cultural Bridge Between the 12th and 21st Centuries: Works of Nizami Ganjavi” exhibition that opened in November, 2013.
Participants in the conference will include Director General of Alsace Region’s Cultural Affairs Directorate Alain Hauss, Administrator of the Strasbourg National and University Library Albert Poirot, Head of the Strasbourg National and University Library’s Manuscripts Preservation and Heritage Section Frederick Blin, Deputy Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Literature Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Teymour Kerimli, and Professor of Princeton University’s Middle East Studies Department Michael Barry.
The event will hear reports by a number of professors at leading European universities.
