“THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF GUAM: ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROSPECTS” SEMINAR HELD IN ROMANIA
The seminar brought together Ambassadors of GUAM states and Austria, Belgium, Poland and Japan, diplomats from Lithuania, Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia and Czechia, as well as members of the Romanian Parliament and the country`s foreign ministry officials, and a European Commission representative.
Addressing the event, Eldar Hasanov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan which is currently chairing GUAM, spoke of the organization’s history.
He informed the participants about what Azerbaijan has been doing while chairing GUAM.
The seminar heard reports on Romania`s support of GUAM; GUAM in the context of the Black Sea cooperation and security; conflicts in GUAM; regional cooperation; and prospects of cooperation in the field of energy security.
The seminar was organized by the Azeri Embassy, the European Institute for Risk, Security and Communication Management and Romanian Institute of International Studies.
