TINNED FOOD FACTORY PUT INTO OPERATION IN AGSU
On the eve of Presidential elections, the second tinned food factory has been put into operation in the Agsu town of Azerbaijan. Following the long interval, the Joint Stock Company “Agsu konserv-1” was overhauled and equipped to receive the harvest.
By the end of 2003, the plant will receive about 6 thousand tons of fruits not only from Agsu farmers but also from other provinces. The plant will produce only pomegranate, apple, quince, hips, sea-buckthorn and mixed juices.
Within short time, up-to-date equipment from Sweden and Germany will be delivered to the plant. The productions will be exported to foreign markets as well.
The output will reach its planned production capacity in May 2004. It is scheduled to produce tomato paste, jam, and comfiture. The number of workers will be increased 6-fold.
