Baku hosts official reception marking Saudi National Day

An official reception was held in Baku on September 23 to mark Saudi Arabia’s National Day.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili said bilateral relations date back to 1991, adding that the high-level reciprocal visits between the two countries have yielded significant progress across various areas.
He noted that efforts are underway through the Intergovernmental Joint Commission and the Saudi Arabia-Azerbaijan Joint Business Council to boost trade and expand investment.
The ambassador said the two countries have numerous opportunities to double bilateral investment and trade turnover in a short period.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov reaffirmed the commitment to further deepening cooperation with Saudi Arabia across key sectors, including the economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, the green transition, tourism, and other areas.
He noted that the Intergovernmental Joint Commission plays an important role in advancing bilateral ties and implementing the leaders’ directives. Preparations are underway for its ninth meeting, which Azerbaijan plans to host by the end of this year.
The Deputy Prime Minister wished the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia lasting peace, security, progress, and prosperity on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day. He expressed confidence that the existing friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future.
The event continued with an artistic program.
