German Ambassador to Azerbaijan visits Milli Majlis

On September 23, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Dirk Lölke, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the parties noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Germany in July had elevated bilateral relations to a new level. It was emphasized that the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership between Azerbaijan and Germany and the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council during the visit had created a new institutional platform for the systematic development of bilateral ties.
The meeting highlighted the importance of expanding Azerbaijan-Germany cooperation in various areas, including education and humanitarian affairs, as well as the role of the two parliaments, reciprocal visits, and dialogue in strengthening bilateral ties.
The sides also emphasized the role of parliamentary friendship groups in advancing interparliamentary relations, underscoring the opportunities for expanding cooperation within international parliamentary organizations.
The two also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
