Azerbaijan, Belarus ink MoU on cooperation in consular affairs

On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, to discuss the Azerbaijan-Belarus strategic partnership and prospects for its further development.
The sides emphasized the pivotal role of high-level political dialogue and contact between the leaders of both nations in strengthening bilateral ties, as well as the key role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in driving trade and economic cooperation.
Close coordination within the UN, CIS, Non-Aligned Movement and other multilateral platforms was also highlighted.
Following the bilateral talks, the Ministers signed the “Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the years 2027–2028.”
The sides further signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on consular affairs.”
These documents will further consolidate the institutional framework of partnership between the two countries and elevate bilateral coordination in the years ahead.
