France hails Martin Ryan’s pardon

Paris, September 23, AZERTAC

France has welcomed the pardon granted by the President of Azerbaijan to French citizen Martin Ryan, who had been detained in Azerbaijan since December 2023.

In a statement, the press service of France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs underscored the humanitarian nature of the decision and expressed France’s appreciation for the move.

“The Azerbaijani President’s decision to grant a pardon represents an important humanitarian step toward maintaining diplomatic contacts between the two countries,” France’s Foreign Ministry emphasized.
