UN to vote on a draft resolution against electronic surveillance
Baku, November 2 (AZERTAC). A draft of the document has already been submitted by Brazil and Germany in the secretariat of the UN organization. After the representatives of the two countries deliver an oral presentation of the resolution, all other countries will express their views at the meeting of the Third Committee of the General Assembly.
Brazil and Germany have come forward with the draft resolution after the illegal activities of US intelligence agencies were exposed recently. The document, which does not mention the United States not even once, states that illegal surveillance not only violates the right to privacy and freedom of expression, but also threatens to undermine the foundations of a democratic society.
