US GENETIC RESOURCES` OFFICERS VISIT ANAS INSTITUTE OF GENETIC RESOURCES
United States department of Agriculture`s (USDA) plant exchange officer, Edward J. Garvey, and International Center for agricultural Research in the Dry Areas` (ICARDA) associate expert in the Genetic Resources Unit, Dr. Kenneth Street, visited ANAS Institute of Genetic Resources.
The guests familiarized themselves with the Azerbaijan agricultural plants, researches, conducted in the field of wild plants, preservation of farming and others.
Along with the Institute`s scientists, the guests participated in the observation and research works conducted in the Altiagach National Park, as well as in the farming of Guba, Khachmaz and Gusar regions.
In the meetings held in the Institute and regions, Dr. Street and Garvey told of levels and scales of the researches conducted under the lidership of Calal Aliyev in the field of plant genetic resources. The guests expressed their satisfaction with cooperation with the Institute.
The agreements on strengthening of technical and methodical support to the National Genbank, as well as participation of the Azerbaijan young scintists in the International Trainings, and continuing of cooperation with Azerbaijan in preparation of specialists abroad were arranged during the discussions.
