Victory Day and State Flag Day celebrated in Greece

An event dedicated to Victory Day and State Flag Day was organized in Thessaloniki through the joint efforts of the “Gala” Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Society and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Greece.
The event was attended by members of the Azerbaijani community living in Thessaloniki, leaders and representatives of other diaspora organizations, and local residents.
Chairman of the “Gala” Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Rashid Mammadov informed the guests about the significance of the event and spoke about the importance of Victory Day for Azerbaijan. He noted that this day is not only a historic victory but an eternal monument to our collective will, love for the Motherland, and national unity. He emphasized that the soldiers and officers of our heroic army, the sons of the Motherland, restored not only our territorial integrity but also our national pride by liberating our historic lands.
Ambassador Arif Mammadov stated in his speech that, under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev, the historic Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani army in 2020 restored Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, ensured historical justice, and upheld international law.
It was noted that, thanks to the full restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan is now applied on every inch of the country’s soil. Today, our flag flies in every region of Azerbaijan. Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is living through the brightest period of its history as a victorious, sovereign, and strong state. Azerbaijan is actively working to ensure stability and sustainable development in the region.
At the end of the event, guests visited the “Whole Azerbaijan” exhibition and tasted national dishes.
