YAP AWARDS OLYMPIAD WINNERS AND TOP-SCORING STUDENTS
Ali Ahmadov, YAP (New Azerbaijan Party) deputy chairman, today has met with winners of the “Heydar Aliyev through Children’s Eyes” Olympiad who entered higher education institutions and students who achieved high scores at entrance exams.
Mr. Ahmadov congratulated the students on the beginning of the new academic year. He said that national leader Heydar Aliyev always kept education issues in center of his attention. President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy. According to him, the state program on Azerbaijani youth education abroad program approved by the presidential executive order on April 16, 2007 must be regarded another step in this direction.
Ali Ahmadov noted that economic expansion in Azerbaijan is the result of the deliberate and purposeful policy. The growth paves the way for development of other spheres as well. Encouraged by the economic progress in the country, and government’s care, Azerbaijani young people must do their best to master sciences and specialties.
Ahmadov pointed out that YAP also helps young people imbibe knowledge.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission on science and education Shamsaddin Hajiyev praised YAP’s role in developing and improving education in the country.
A. Ahmadov gave presents to winners of the “Heydar Aliyev through Children’s Eyes” Olympiad who entered higher education institutions. He gave plastic cards to three students who will be receiving 50 manat scholarship.
Students who scored 700 at exams were given gifts.
