YOUTH OF FINLAND AND AZERBAIJAN FOR CLOSE COOPERATION
Delegation of the National Youth Council of Finland has been on a visit in Azerbaijan on 15-18 December.
Representatives of this country paid tribute to tomb of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors, commemorated memories of the courageous sons of Azerbaijan at the Alley of Martyrs. Then, the delegation took part in the National Conference "Youth Against AIDS" taken place in Baku.
The visitors met the leaders of National Council of youth organizations, representatives of the youth organizations of republic, held numerous discussions. Discussed were prospects of the further cooperation, activity of the youth organizations, also focused on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its influence on youth, questions of participation of the Azerbaijani youth in projects and programs carried out in Europe.
Representatives of National Youth Council of Finland also visited Guba region. During meetings with the local youth, exchanged were views on the way of life of provincial youth, its organizational establishment and other questions.
The Finnish guests also visited the settlement of “Krasnaya Sloboda” and met with the Jewish community and intelligentsia and became eyewitness of tolerance between religions and cultures in Azerbaijan.
In the frame of visit, the Finnish youth delegation held meetings at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in Milli Majlis, got detailed information on the work carried out in the country by state in the field of youth policy.
