12 killed, many injured from thunderstorm in Indian western state

At least 12 people were killed and many others injured after a thunderstorm hit the western Indian state of Rajasthan, officials said Friday, according to Xinhua.
The strong thunderstorm that began late Thursday night wreaked havoc in many state districts.
According to officials, the casualties were reported in Tonk district, about 102 km south of Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.
The storm affected power supply in many places in the state, and strong winds flung roadside hoardings.
India's state-run broadcaster, All India Radio, said the speed of stormy winds was recorded at 96 km per hour at the airport in Jaipur.
The regional office of the India Meteorological Department said there was a possibility of continuing thunderstorms and rain in the state during the next three to four days.
