Baku, June 5 (AZERTAC). The 14th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals has opened today in the capital of Azerbaijan under the aegis of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The exhibition has brought together 360 companies from 32 countries including Russia. World famous companies such as Wintershall, Petrofac Uk, PKN Orlen are participating in the exhibition for the first time.

In his address, President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan has signed 25 large-scale oil contracts over the past 13 years, attracting $30 bln of investment into the country. According to him, traditional oil and gas exhibition promotes effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and the world’s biggest companies. According to the Head of State, participation of 4.5 thousand companies from 70 countries is the evidence of the interest towards the Baku exhibition.

Within the framework of the exhibition, a two-day exhibition will be also held with participation of the heads of leading oil, gas and energy companies, and representatives of financial institutions, scholars and experts. The will discuss development of Caspian energy resources, their transportation to the world markets, establishment of cooperation for implementation of projects ensuring energy security in Europe and world.
