2007 SUCCESSFUL FOR AZERBAIJAN DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY
The year 2007 was very successful for Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Academy conducted five-month training courses for 24 new employees of the Ministry last year.
The courses included two-month English language lessons, visits to Azerbaijani regions, familiarization with various state institutions and five-week training in Azerbaijan`s embassies in foreign countries.
The courses were conducted together with Turkish and Norwegian foreign ministries, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (USA), Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Korean Institute for Security and International Relations, Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the College of Europe (Belgium).
The Academy also launched a Foreign Service Training Program for the Foreign Ministry`s diplomats.
The program was implemented in collaboration with the Georgetown University, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Institute of International Studies (Geneva), Marshall European Center for Security Studies and Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Academy also organized European Union`s summer school on diplomacy and law together with the European Institute (Italy).
The school involved forty people, including five from Georgia, five from Turkey and ten from various European countries.
Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy established close relations with a number of universities, diplomatic academies and international centers across the world, including the Croatian Diplomatic Academy, Moscow State Institute of International Relations and Norwegian Diplomatic Academy.
The Academy`s representatives attended the first forum of diplomatic academies in Mozambique.
During the year, the Academy was visited by over 20 famous foreign and local politicians and scientists.
