A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament titled “Battle of Stockholm,” featuring nearly 450 athletes from various countries, has been held in Stockholm.
Sixteen-year-old Amadeus Manguliyev, who lives in Sweden and represented Azerbaijan, also competed in the tournament.
The athlete, competing in the 104 kg class, participated in the men’s white-belt division in the over-100.5 kg weight category.
Amadeus Manguliyev defeated Swedish athlete Tor Papinniemim 10–0 to secure the gold medal.
The competition was held at the Eriksdalshallen sports complex, with matches taking place simultaneously on five mats. Athletes competed throughout the day across various age and weight categories.
This is not 16-year-old Amadeus Manguliyev’s first success this year. He previously won a silver medal in the over-100.5 kg weight category at the Stockholm BJJ Open, held in Stockholm on May 23. In total, the athlete has secured three gold medals and one silver medal so far this year.
