Baku hosts opening ceremony of 1st Kurultai of Composers of Turkic World

The opening ceremony of the 1st Kurultai of Composers of Turkic World was held at the Union of Azerbaijani Composers as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture.
The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture and International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the ICESCO Baku Regional Office, Union of Azerbaijani Composers, and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov noted that the First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World serves as a platform for international cooperation, bringing together creative potential, supporting young composers, and contributing to the promotion of the rich musical heritage of the Turkic world.
Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, emphasized that they seek to create a vibrant musical space where the rich heritage can become a source of new compositions, professional cooperation, and international cultural dialogue.
Abdulhakeem Fahad Alsenan, Director of the Regional Office of ICESCO, underlined that there is very strong cooperation between ICESCO and Azerbaijan. He noted that the Baku Office plays a special role in further developing this cooperation.
Firangiz Alizadeh, Chairperson of the Union of Azerbaijani Composers and People’s Artist, emphasized the deep musical ties that exist among the countries of the Turkic world.
