5 CARRIAGES GIVEN TO BAKU METRO PASSENGERS
Opening the ceremony, chief of the Metro Department Tagi Ahmadov dwelt upon attention and care showed by national leader Heydar Aliyev to development of its main kind of city passenger transport. He noted that the number of new carriages obtained from the Russian “Metrovagonmash” Public Corporation came to 50. Carriages are up to international standards, in particular, safety regulations.
T. Ahmadov said that in accordance with recommendations and instructions of Ilham Aliyev it is scheduled to assign funds from the budget to purchase new equipment.
Having expressed invaluable services of Heydar Aliyev, other orators expressed confidence that President Ilham Aliyev will pay attention to development of Metro to operate 19 hrs per day. Having expressed a strong protest against disturbances committed by radical wing of the opposition on October 15-16 in Baku, the Metro workers stated that they voted for Ilham Aliyev with pleasure at the presidential elections and proud of this.
After the red ribbon was cut, Tagi Ahmadov handed keys to locomotive to which new carriages are hooked.
