Baku, January 29, AZERTAC
Almaty hosts today the 5th EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum being attended by more than 150 representatives from EU institutions, UN agencies, regional governments, and civil society organizations, the Kazinform News Agency reports citing the official website of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan.
The three-day event is organized by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in the framework of the EU Civil Society Facility for Central Asia funded by the European Union (EU).
The forum agenda includes “critical issues shaping the region’s future, such as digital transformation, climate change, youth participation, and women’s empowerment.”
“This four-year initiative aims to empower CSOs across Central Asia by fostering collaboration and advancing their role in promoting their active participation in regional decision-making to ensure good governance and sustainable development,” the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan says.
The event is called to become a vital platform for dialogue, offering participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate on advancing the EU Central Asia Strategy and the Global Gateway priorities.
