AGO GROUP HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE

Council of Europe Committee of Ministers “AGO” Monitoring Group today has given a press conference on the results of its visit to Azerbaijan at the CoE office in Baku.

During the two-day visit, members of the group met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, government officials, heads of political parties and non-governmental organizations and representatives of Baku offices of international organizations.

Head of the delegation P. Sjogren said the group is satisfied with how Azerbaijan fulfills its CoE obligations regarding judicial reforms, election legislation, freedom of media and activity of democratic institutions.

Then, the members of the group responded to journalists’ questions.
