AGREEMENT ON OIL TRANSPORTATION VIA AZERBAIJAN PREPARED BY GOVERNMENT OF KAZAKHSTAN
The Azerbaijani side and potential investors suggest to apply schemes and structures of agreements, recommended by the secretariat of the Energy Charter for the implementation of projects on creation of interstate oil & gas transportation systems, which imply signing of an intergovernmental agreement and an agreement with the host country, coming into effect by means of ratification.
The head of Kazakhstani government, having generally approved propositions on the Aktau - Baku - Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan project, expressed at a meeting by representatives of "KazMunaiGas" NC" JSC, drew attention of the negotiating process participants to the protection of Kazakhstani interests in the first place. D. Akhmetov ordered to the involved ministries and other authorities to complete the expert work on the draft agreement between the government of RK and the government of AR "On assistance and support of the oil transportation via the Caspian Sea for the transit through the territory of Azerbaijan" in a ten day term.
Summing up results of the meeting, the prime minister reminded its participants about an importance of work on further development of Aktau sea port as per the program approved by the president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
