Albania, Kosovo and Croatia discuss ways to step up defense cooperation

Albania, Kosovo and Croatia have held a trilateral meeting to advance defence cooperation,according to the Albanian News Agency (ATA).
The meeting, held at the level of directors for defence policy and armaments, followed a joint declaration signed in 2025 by the defence ministers of the three countries and forms part of its implementation, Kosovo’s Defence Ministry said.
According to the release, Kosovo’s delegation was led by Defence Policy Director Faruk Geci. Officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in defence capabilities, expand collaboration between the countries’ defence industries and agree on next steps under the declaration
The declaration outlines four main areas of cooperation: developing defence capabilities and the defence industry; increasing interoperability through education, training and joint exercises; addressing hybrid threats and boosting resilience; and providing continued support for Euro-Atlantic integration.
The declaration also reaffirmed the commitment of the three countries to step up cooperation in security and defence, with the aim of enhancing stability in southeastern Europe.
Officials stressed the need for coordinated efforts to tackle emerging security challenges, including hybrid threats and other risks to regional and international stability.
