Isfendiyar Vahabzade, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova, on 7 May visited the region of Gagauzia of this country, reported AZERTAC, referring to the press service of Gagauzia Autonomy.

In meeting with officials of Gagauzia, discussed were prospects of establishment of bilateral trade-economic, scientific-educational and cultural links between Azerbaijan and the Autonomy.

Mikhail Formuzel, Head of Gagauzia noted that current visit of the Azerbaijani diplomat to this region should become the start of new level in bilateral relations. “Especially greater success we can reach in the sphere of export of Gagauz wine to the Azerbaijan market. In bilateral cooperation, important role can play oil processing, as well as exploration works in the territory of Gagauzia".

“Azerbaijan is keen in strengthening of relations with Gagauzia”, Ambassador Vahabzade underlined. According to him, the visit will give impetus to useful and mutually beneficial cooperation.
