AZERBAIJAN AGRIBUSINESS CENTER HOSTS WORKSHOP ON AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The workshop, attended by Azerbaijani agribusiness entrepreneurs, international buyers, and representatives of international banks, transportation experts, and certification specialists, was hosted by the Azerbaijan Agribusiness Center and supported by the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID)
Among the topics discussed were an overview of opportunities in the agribusiness export market, the expectations of international buyers, rules and regulations, the role of commercial banks and financial intermediaries in promotion trade finance, and effective methods of transportation.
Speaker agreed in opinion that local producers should first of all concentrate on packaging and learning of rules and regulations of trade, certification, crediting and transportation.
The workshop concluded with a roundtable discussion of Azerbaijani agribusiness entrepreneurs.
The USAID’s Rural Enterprise Competitiveness Program is intended to improve rural incomes by stimulating agricultural development and production.
