Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan discuss cooperation on broadcasting of TV channels

On the margins of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, met with Kanat Iskakov, First Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, and Nurlan Bertysov, Chief Expert at the Department of Information Activities for Television and Radio Channels under the Information Committee of Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
The sides emphasized the allied nature of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. They discussed expanding cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), as well as enhancing collaboration in the field of media and information.
During the conversation, Hikmet Hajiyev underscored the importance of strengthening coordination within the OTS on issues related to social media platforms, developing joint media content and organizing a coordinated response to disinformation. The parties also discussed broadcasting Azerbaijani TV channels in Kazakhstan and Kazakh TV channels in Azerbaijan.
Noting with special appreciation President Ilham Aliyev’s meeting with media representatives on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, as well as his detailed and candid responses to numerous questions, Kanat Iskakov and Nurlan Bertysov conveyed their congratulations on the excellent organization of the event.
