Azerbaijan and OIC enhance cooperation on women’s rights

Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, met with Afnan Alshuaiby, Executive Director of the OIC Women Development Organization, on the sidelines of the international conference titled “Harnessing Religious and Media Discourse and its Impact on the Protection and Promotion of Women’s Rights in OIC Member States,” held in Cairo.
The sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Women Development Organization.
Afnan Alshuaiby hailed the progress achieved in the field of women’s rights in Azerbaijan. Speaking about the Women Development Organization, which began operating in 2021, the Executive Director expressed interest in cooperating with Azerbaijan within this platform.
Bahar Muradova highlighted the activities of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs. She emphasized that Azerbaijan closely cooperates with the OIC across various fields and is among the member states contributing most actively to the organization’s activities.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov.
