“AZERBAIJAN AND TURKISH MEDIA” CONFERENCE COMMENCES IN BAKU
Representatives of relevant governmental bodies and mass media of Turkey and Azerbaijan have today gathered for the conference called “Azerbaijan and Turkish media”, which has today commenced in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, Aflatun Amashov, Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan noted the conference would focus on common and distinctive features of the Azerbaijan and Turkish media.
Nazim Isayev, Deputy Head of the Socio-Political Department of the President’s Office told of favorable conditions created for journalists in Azerbaijan, emphasizing that country`s laws on mass media are completely democratic.
According to him, studying Turkey’s experience would yield positive results in terms of solving media-related problems, and improving professionalism of journalists in Azerbaijan.
Turkey’s Director General of Press and Information Salih Melek spoke about media’s role in boosting relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic called on journalists to be cautious while publishing reports concerning national and state interests
