Azerbaijan attends work session on statistical metadata in Switzerland
Baku, May 26 (AZERTAC). Head of the Department of the State Statistical Committee Gasim Aliyev has participated in the work session on statistical metadata in Geneva, Switzerland.
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) hosted the work session.
This work session was organized as part of the Conference of European Statisticians work programme on statistical metadata (METIS). It was hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Formal METIS Work Sessions are held every two to three years, with workshops in-between if necessary. The last METIS Work Session was held in March 2010.
The aim of the Work Session is to exchange experience among statisticians and other experts and to identify best practices in the field of statistical metadata.
The target audience for this workshop included statistical metadata specialists and people responsible for implementing and supporting changes to statistical business processes.
As a region, the member States of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) are more energy-efficient than the world as a whole. However, this is not true for residential energy consumption per person, which is much higher in the UNECE than the rest of the world.
