International open national games for gymnastics, track and field athletics, basketball, football and badminton of the Uzbekistan Special Olympic Committee took place in Bukhara.

The tournament has gathered athletes from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Poland, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

Azerbaijan national junior basketball team competed in the tournament.

Azerbaijan team secured a 41:11 victory over Tashkent, then lost to Bukhara team 33:34.

Later, Azerbaijan basketball team won a silver medal by gaining consecutive wins over Andijan team (34:22), Kashkadarin district (18:6).

Azerbaijan national basketball team considers the tournament as a build-up to the European championship based on the Special Olympic program to be held in Istanbul, May 2008.
