Azerbaijan becomes member of UNWTO Executive Council

Azerbaijan was elected as a member of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for 2023-2025 at the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe in the city of Sofia, the Republic of Bulgaria, Foreign Ministry’s Press Service said.
Azerbaijan gained the highest number of votes together with Italy, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Bulgaria to become a member of the UNWTO Executive Council. 11 countries competed for 5 vacant seats during the elections held in extremely competitive conditions.
The Ministry thanked all the countries that supported Azerbaijan's UNWTO Executive Council membership bid.
