AZERBAIJAN COMMUNITY OF NAGORNO KARABAKH ADDRESSED U.S. AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN
Public union of the Azerbaijan community of Nagorno Karabakh sent to the U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Ms. Anne Derse a letter of protest related to the known changes made by the Department of State of this country in the terms of the preliminary version of report on human rights for 2006, concerning the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The changes made in the preliminary version of report under the influence of Armenian lobby in USA is nothing but indifference to violation of the rights of 700 thousands people, driven from their homelands, as a result of ethnic purge, including 62 thousands people living in the territory of Nagorno Karabakh, the letter says.
The change under influence of the Armenian organizations backing Armenian terror of stance of the state pretending to the role of guarantee for peace over the world, defender of human rights, is completely inexplicable, the letter underlines.
It is noted that these amendments put under question territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan community of Nagorno Karabakh estimates it as support for the separatist regime.
The public union backs statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic on the question and demands from USA, as ho-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, to hold a fair stance and restore the preliminary report, the letter of protest emphasizes.
