Azerbaijan FM: COP29 agreements mark key milestone in climate change fight

“The agreements reached within the scope of COP29, alongside the Baku Finance Goal, represent an important milestone in the global fight against climate change,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Mashhad, Iran.
Minister Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan’s regional sustainable development initiatives, underscoring the strategic importance of the “Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, and Republic of Uzbekistan on Strategic Partnership in the Development and Transmission of Green Energy,” signed during COP29. He highlighted the agreement’s potential to foster economic growth and bolster energy security across the region.
