Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency delegation visits Uzbekistan’s phytosanitary laboratory

As part of the working trip to Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) delegation visited with the Phytosanitary Laboratory of Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with the laboratory’s activities, equipment, infrastructure, staff, and control procedures.
The delegation members were informed on how samples are collected, laboratory tests are conducted, and phytosanitary risks are assessed.
Later, the delegation held an online meeting with experts from the Asian Development Bank (ASB). The meeting reviewed a document prepared by Uzbekistan, shared Azerbaijan’s experience in food security, and discussed plans to establish a new food safety organization in the country.
The visit aims to support the implementation of Azerbaijan’s food safety management model in Uzbekistan.
