AZERBAIJAN INCREASED OIL EXPORT BY 1,5 PERCENT IN JANUARY-AUGUST
SOCAR has sold 1,825 million tons of oil in European markets for the same period, including 219,3 thousand tons in August. One ton of azeri light valued at $28,75 against $26,84 in July.
Export of Azerbaijani oil en this route began in October 1997. It is scheduled to deliver 2,5 million tons to Novorossiysk for 2003.
Azerbaijan International Operating Company /AIOC/, developing contract area “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli”, has pumped 4,2 million tons of oil along Baku-Supsa pipeline for 8 months for 2003 against 4,088 million tons as of the same period 2002. The export volume of contract oil in August totaled 553 thousand tons against 570 thousand in July.
Export of oil to Black Sea coast of Georgia has begun since April 1999. By AIOC’s estimation, 6,6 million tons of oil will be pumped along Baku-Supsa pipeline in 2002 against 6,4 in 2003.
