Azerbaijan invited to GECF ministerial meeting

Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Seyed Mohammad Hossein Adeli has invited Azerbaijan to the 17th Ministerial Meeting of the organization. He extended the invitation to Azerbaijani energy minister Natig Aliyev as they met in Baku.
Hossein Adeli said the meeting would take place in Doha, Qatar, this November, and determine a new development model of gas exporting countries, look at their opportunities for the period until 2040, and consider attracting new players to the gas market.
He also hailed GECF`s cooperation with Azerbaijan. They exchanged views on Azerbaijan`s observer status with GECF, and ways of developing relations between the country and organization.
Azerbaijan was granted an observer status by GECF at its 17th Ministerial Meeting that took place in Tehran in 2015.
