Azerbaijan-Iran trade grows 66 per cent
Tehran, September 3, AZERTAC
Trade between Azerbaijan and Iran saw a 66 per cent growth in the first half of 2016, said Trade Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Baku Mahammed Ibrahim Nagizadeh.
“In view of dropping oil prices on the world markets, Azerbaijan embarked on economic reforms, and this contributed to the expansion of the country`s trade relations.”
“These reforms paved the way for further expansion of economic and trade relations between Iran and Azerbaijan,” he said.
Nagizadeh said Iran exported goods worth $180 million to Azerbaijan in the first four months of the year.
He noted that trade between the two countries in the non-oil sector makes $500 million, adding there is big possibility that the figure will increase.
