Azerbaijan, Israel discuss bilateral ties
Baku, May 1 (AZERTAC). Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov has today met Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to discuss the bilateral relations.
The Speaker said Azerbaijan-Israel ties were developing in all areas, particularly in the fields of economy and politics.
He said seven documents had been signed between Azerbaijan and Israel, adding six documents were expected to be signed.
Asadov said trade between the two countries amounted to more than $1.3 billion in 2013.
The Speaker expressed confidence the bilateral trade would increase, noting the role of the Azerbaijan-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Asadov lauded Israel`s backing Azerbaijan`s position and territorial integrity.
Lieberman praised bilateral relations, saying there were good opportunities for boosting cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel even further.
The FM stressed the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in strengthening the bilateral ties.
