Azerbaijan joins International partner program of IEC
Baku, June 30 (AZERTAC). State Committee of Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan has joined an international partner program of the International Electrotechnical Commision.
A relevant document was signed by the chairman of the state committee Ramiz Hasanov and IEC Secretary General Akhoran Amit.
`With joining the partner program, the State Committee can use the e-base of the OIC without limits. Additionally, it got an opportunity to apply IEC-accepted international standards in Azerbaijan. All the same, the experts of the state committee received the right to participate in technical committee and IEC General Assembly`, the statement says.
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), established in 1906, is a goodwill nongovernmental organization.
Its activity is mostly connected with standardization of physical features of electrotechnical and electronic equipment. IEC pays main attention to such issues as, for example, electric metering, testing, utilization, security of electrotechnical and electronic equipment.
IEC includes national organizations (committees) of standardization of technologies in relevant spheres, representing interests of their countries in the sphere of international standardization.
