AZERBAIJAN MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS MEETS WITH UN RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov met with the UN Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Bruno Pouezat.
Ramil Usubov informed Mr. Pouezat about reforms conducted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Minister said he believes the bilateral cooperation between his ministry and the UN Baku Office will continue developing.
Both MR. Usubov and Mr. Pouezat noted that the offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including regional units of the Head Department for Fight against Narcotics were provided with necessary equipment as part of the South Caucasus Anti-Drug (SCAD) Program funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The SCAP Program is aimed at increasing the capacity of the country’s government in its efforts to fight against drug-trafficking and drug abuse.
Bruno Pouezat said he, as a foreign citizen, can feel safe in Azerbaijan.
The UN Resident Representative expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs for providing high level of security for foreign diplomats and citizens working and residing in the country.
