Azerbaijan National Security Ministry prevents drug smuggling from Iran
Baku, March 14 (AZERTAC). As a result of the operations carried out by the Ministry of National Security, Azerbaijan prevented the smuggling of 24 kg of drugs from Iran. Nine suspects were arrested, the Ministry said.
During the inspections, more than 10 kg of heroin, 11 kg 881 grams of opium, 1 kg of hashish, 720 grams of heroin and approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine synthetic drugs were found and confiscated.
The Central Investigation Department of the Ministry of National Security launched criminal cases on all facts under articles 206.3.2 (smuggling of narcotics by group of persons by prior collusion), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (manufacture, acquisition, storage, shipment, or sale for the illicit manufacture and processing of drugs by prior collusion) of the Criminal Code. Azerbaijani citizens Huseynov Shahhuseyn Sarkhan oglu, Ganbarov Ilkin Beyeli oglu, Hagverdiyev Vasif Abbas oglu, Dadashov Ilgar Khanhuseyn olgu, Hasanov Hasan Turab olgu, Aliyev Elshan Islam oglu, Ibadov Rahid Ibad oglu, Amanov Vugar Balash oglu and Aliyev Ehtiram Dedekishi oglu were sentenced to pre-trial detention by the court.
The investigation and operations are underway to determine other participants of the illegal acts.
