Azerbaijan Railways, Stadler Rail Company discuss cooperation prospects

Baku, September 14 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Swiss company Stadler Rail has today visited the headquarters of Azerbaijan Railways company to explore prospects for building bilateral cooperation.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Arif Asgarov highlighted what had been done to modernize the country`s railway system. He noted he significance of the State Program on development of railway transport system in Azerbaijan in 2010-2014.
"Within the implementation of the state program we plan to purchase new modern trains. In this respect, we are very much interested in activity of Stadler Rail."
Vice-president of Stadler Rail Peter Zhenelten said the company was interested in entering the Azerbaijani market.
He noted that founded in 1942, Stadler Rail AG had factories in Switzerland, Germany, Poland and other countries: `At present, 13 counties exploit passenger trains, special wagons, tramways, locomotives of Stadler Rail Company.”
