President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening.
Director of the Museum, academician Naila Velikhanli, Vice-Premier Abid Sharifov, historians and builders cheered the Head of State and the First Lady.
One of the historical-architectural buildings of Baku, the Museum of History was founded in 1920 last century. The museum contains valuable exhibits on the history of the Land of Fires.
The Head of State was informed that the Museum`s expositions always improve and grow with new exhibits, books about the museum`s materials, catalogues and albums. The Museum`s exposition and exhibition show the propaganda about the history of Azerbaijan. It renders help and advises to high and secondary schools, and to other organizations.
The Museum has been reconstructing since 2005 when the President gave certain instructions on its refurbishment that was completed by “Agrartikinti``Stock Company. The area, engineering-technical and communication system of the building has been renewed. Skillful masters have restored the national architectural ornaments on the building. The museum contains more than 300 thousand exhibits, including photo materials narrating about the life of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, a charity man, famous oil millionaire, historical documents. The Museum with 130 contributors has special section dealing with the life and activity of the founder of modern Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
Vise-Premier Abid Sharfov informed on the reconstruction works.
President of Azerbaijan signed the Guests Book.
