Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency, Xinhua discuss prospects for cooperation
Baku, 28 August (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) and Chinese Xinhua News Agency have today explored ways of developing the bilateral cooperation as chief of Xinhua`s Baku bureau visited AZERTAC to meet Director General Aslan Aslanov.
Mr Aslanov stressed the importance of expanding relations between the national news agencies in terms of “strengthening of friendly ties between the Azerbaijani and Chinese people”. The Director General noted AZERTAC established relations with Xinhua in 2003, adding “this cooperation had strengthened within international news organizations as well”.
Mr Aslanov recalled his meeting with President of Xinhua Li Congjun, which took place in Moscow last year on the sidelines of the World Media Summit. He emphasized the importance of the meeting, saying it contributed to developing the Azerbaijan-Xinhua cooperation.
Mr Tieying extended the greetings of Li Congjun to Aslan Aslanov. He praised relations between AZERTAC and Xinhua, adding both agencies support each other within international and regional organizations. Mr Tieying also expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop. He particularly noted the role of bureaus in Baku and Beijing in expansion of AZERTAC-Xinhua cooperation.
