AZERBAIJAN-TURKMENISTAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION TO HOLD TALKS ON CASPIAN SEA LEGAL STATUS
Establishment of the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission can be considered the first stage of the dialogue between the two countries’ presidents, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov said.
Khalaf Khalafov pointed out that the composition of the government was approved by Turkmen and Azerbaijani presidents’ decrees.
Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with his Turkmen counterpart on the sidelines of the conference of Foreign Ministers of the Caspian nations held on June 20-21 in Tehran. The sides exchanged their views on the prospects for development of the dialogue between the two countries’ presidents and discussed restarting of operations of the Turkmenistan’s embassy in Baku. Turkmen side welcomed it.
