AZERBAIJAN, UKRAINE: MILITARY TIES HIGH LEVEL
Ambassador Boris Aleksenko highlighted on existing political, economic situation in his country, preparation for presidential elections in Ukraine, and reforms in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stressing that after Mr. Ilham Aliyev was elected as President of Azerbaijan, the bilateral relations between the tow countries have reached a new phase.
The newly appointed military attachй introduced him.
Colonel-general Safar Abiyev said that Ukraine is one of the first states that appointed its military attachй in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan appreciates the bilateral links with Ukraine as a strategic partner, he said. Military links of the two states are intensively developing.
The Minister thanked to the former military attachй, colonel Vladimir Gapelik for useful service, wished the new attachй efficient activity for further development of military ties of the two countries.
Also were exchanged views on the existing political-military situation in the South Caucasus region.
