AZERBAIJAN, USA: MILITARY COOPERATION DISCUSSED
The Minister informed on the Armenian aggression, the development of country, and large-scale economic project being implemented in the Republic. “These projects are of international importance. Many world states, including the United States take part in their realization. These projects have been implemented in the conditions of war against aggressive Armenia. Delay of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict is a serious obstacle for efficiency of these projects. Despite of Four Resolutions of the UN Security Council on unconditional liberation of the occupied lands and withdrawal of military forces from this area, Armenia ignores these demands”.
General William Ward expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state and people for active participation at the anti-terror coalition and in peacemaking operations.
The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on numerous aspects of Azerbaijan-USA military cooperation, which, according to them, will speed up bringing the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to NATO standards.
Mr. Abiyev updated the guest on current military-political situation on the Caucasus, noting that Armenia, armed by its patrons, impedes settlement of the conflict.
Ambassador of the United States to Azerbaijan Ms. Anne Derse took part in meeting.
