AZERBAIJANI AMBASSADOR MEETS HUNGARIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Budapest Hasan Hasanov met with Hungarian parliamentarians, including Head of Hungary Inter-parliamentary Union Gabor Harsh, Chairman of Hungary-Azerbaijan parliament friendship group Janos Horvath, and members of the group.
The ambassador spoke to the event covering socio-political situation in Azerbaijan, his country’s political and economic achievements, and Azerbaijan-Hungary relationships.
Mr. Hasanov said reciprocal visits by top officials, including President Ilham Aliyev’s February state visit to Hungary, have opened wide opportunities for development of bilateral cooperation as well as inter-parliamentary relationships.
Horvath said Hungarian Parliament Speaker Katalin Szili was invited to pay official visit to Azerbaijan. “This visit will play essential role in expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries”, he said.
Chairman of the Friendship Group added that the Hungarian parliamentarians will participate in celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan Parliament in June.
Speaking to the meeting, other parliamentarians stressed the role of Hungary-Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary friendship group in boosting bilateral ties.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s edition “War against Azerbaijan” narrating Armenia’s aggression against historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan was launched at the embassy.
The meeting also featured a film about Azerbaijan and an exhibition of Azerbaijani artists.
The participants were presented books about Azerbaijan published in English and Hungarian.
