AZERBAIJANI AND ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS MEET IN RUSSIA
Foreign Ministers Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan and Edward Nalbandian of Armenia met Friday at the Russia`s Foreign Ministry in the presence of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Denisov. Afterwards, both ministers had a tet-a-tet meeting.
The meetings addressed the current state and prospects of negotiations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Following the discussions, the ministers, together with the co-chairs, briefed journalists.
E.Mammadyarov described the talks as effective. According to him, discussions during talks revolved around lifting obstacles to the conflict settlement.
The Armenian minister said discussions were held on the basis of the Co-Chairs-initiated Madrid proposals. According to him, the ministers` next meeting can take place in late September in New-York.
